Helen is also professionally qualified and registered to practice cupping therapy, zen shiatsu, sports therapy, and to teach pilates and qigong. Helen's training was carried out in the UK, wth further training in China.
Helen has always worked in health and science. Before professionally re-training in traditional Chinese and Japanese approaches to health she spent 8 years in academia gaining a doctorate in the field of medical diagnostic technologies, 6 years in respiratory product development in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by a number of years working as a freelance scientific and technical writer.
Helen has a long held interest in Chinese internal arts including tai chi and qigong. Helen always trains and studies with the top people in their respective fields, seeking especially to learn authentic versions of both medical practices and internal arts. Helen also enjoys the outdoors, particularly alpine skiing, ice climbing, hiking and gardening.
Her unusual combination of training and experiences as both a scientist and a practitioner, together with a passion and interest in healthy life choices, give Helen a balanced perspective and insight that enables her to help people who visit her clinic. Helen listens to and considers each individual as a whole person and plans treatments accordingly.

The name of the clinic comes from the Chinese acupuncture point Yong Quan, which translates as bubbling spring or gushing spring. This is the first acupuncture point on the kidney channel in our bodies, located on the sole of the foot. The kidneys are the most important organ in Chinese medicine. If you have abundant kidney Qi, you are strong physically and sound mentally and emotionally.
Here at Bubbling Spring we work with you to revive, restore and rebalance so that you can return to a state of adundant wellbeing.
